CRITICAL THINKING AND MEDIA LITERACY

 CRITICAL LITERACY

In the article, cultural literacy, in my opinion, refers to the ability to understand, appreciate and interact effectively with diverse cultures and cultural contexts. It involves a deep knowledge of the values, traditions, customs, symbols, and practices of different cultures, as well as the ability to communicate and behave respectfully and appropriately in intercultural contexts.

This competence not only encompasses knowledge of facts and details about other cultures, but also the ability to empathize, adapt and recognize cultural diversity as a wealth. Cultural literacy is essential in a globalized world, as it facilitates collaboration and peaceful coexistence between people of different cultural origins.

The article also tells us about critical thinking, which I understood to be the ability to analyze, evaluate and synthesize information in an objective and rational way to make informed decisions. It involves questioning claims, identifying biases, and evaluating the logic and coherence of arguments. Critical thinking is characterized by: analysis, evaluation, interpretation, inference, explanation and self-regulation.
